Woodworm is the common name for the larvae of wood-boring beetles, tiny creatures that love to tunnel through wood, leaving behind a trail of fine dust and a bunch of tiny holes. They can seriously weaken timber, beams, floorboards, furniture, or anything wooden they fancy.
Most people spot the damage before they see the actual insects. You’ll often notice small holes (like pinpricks), crumbling edges, or that telltale dusty mess called frass.
Living and working here along the Moray coast, We’ve come across this in some older properties. It’s one of those things that creeps in quietly but needs a proper fix.
The good news? It’s treatable. But it’s worth acting fast, contact us to assess and treat it properly before the damage spreads.
